Dancing with Joy

Every day when I drive to the hospital, there is a woman standing on the street corner dancing.

I know how weird that sounds. Trust me. I've thought about how I was going to write that a dozen times.

This woman is joyful.

She exudes joy.

She has her headphones and cassette player (you read that right) and she just dances and smiles and waves at the people who drive past her.

She is not a small girl, not overly attractive in the worldly ways but the joy! Oh the joy.

She makes me smile and I look forward to seeing her there every day.

I want that joy! I want to be uninhibited. I don't want to care what people think of me as I dance through my life. I am going to choose joy.

Joy.
