And there was much rejoicing!

Oh people, all of you faithful few who stick with me through my manic-depressive blogging, through the whining, the crying, the stressing, the COMPLETE FREAK OUTS, and...well, you get the picture...your prayers have been heard and God has granted favor on one very tiny micro-chip.

Yesterday at 1 am, Mr. KJ decided to extubate himself. You see, he's been studying his med student hand book and decided he could do it without the doctor's help. Trying to save money or something, I don't know.

Anyway, after 2 weeks of vigilant swaddling, he broke loose. His hands were free and YANK, out went the tube. Not all the way out, mind you, but out enough to make a difference.

So, while the extubation wasn't planned, he is actually doing quite well. He was ready. He had some wheezing at first but he has worked his way out of them. The doctor's are thrilled. So are we.

Needless to say, I spent the entire afternoon snuggling that sweet baby boy.

Last night they moved him into a regular bed again, lowered is O2 flow again, and increased the amount of formula is getting. Baby steps.

So MUCH rejoicing! So much good news today, even more than I can share on my puny little blog. Our gratitude for your prayers is immeasurable.
